There appears to be a lot of conversation on the internet about Dads loving their Daughters more. And I felt compelled to share my personal experience as a Dad to both a son and a daughter.

Why Do Dads Love Their Daughters More? A Dad does not love his daughter more than anyone else in his immediate family. He shares his love equally amongst all members of his immediate family. He loves his partner and his other children equally. The way a Dad interacts with his partner and children may vary but not his love.

My love for my daughter and my son explained

As mentioned, I have a biological daughter and a biological son. And I love them both equally with all of my heart. Their mother and I have been together since 2006. We had our kids in our 30s. And I love my wife just as much as I love my kids.

Our son is one year older than our daughter. And regardless of the fact that he was the born first, or older, or even that he is a boy, I love both my kids equally. I also love my wife just as much. 

When it comes to how I interact with all three members of my immediate family, that’s when things are different. But that is only because they are different human beings and has nothing to do with how much I love them.

Dads love their daughters so much because she is his child. A parent loves their child regardless if it is a girl or boy. And Dads love their children unconditionally. This feeling is natural for the majority of fathers.

How do dads feel about their daughters?

The majority of Dads are ecstatic, excited and full of joy when they find out that they are going to have a daughter. This feeling is no different than when he finds out that he is going to have a son. 

How do dads feel about his daughter dating?

A dad has mixed emotions when his daughter dates. Only because it is a true sign of his daughter growing up and experiencing life. A dad always wants the best for his daughter which leads him to feel a variety of emotions like happiness, nervousness, sadness and more.

Why do fathers have a soft spot for their daughters?

The best way that I can put this into perspective is by saying that I treat my daughter like I would treat any female. With kindness and respect. I was raised to appreciate and respect women and hold them to a high standard and that is how I treat my daughter and my wife.

Summary

I feel truly blessed to have both a daughter and a son. So much so that I created a website about being a Dad. If you find yourself questioning whether someone that you know loves a child more than another, I’m speaking from experience when I say that it may not be the case. The ways in which that person interacts with a daughter, son, and partner may differ but not his love.
